Villasimius is about fifty kilometers from Cagliari, and being well connected with the whole island, it is very easy to reach.
Arriving from Cagliari, one can opt for an evocative scenic road, the SP17, which gives a glimpse of the wonder that awaits the visitor at every turn, or for a road with fewer curves with a fast-flowing road, the SS125.
For those arriving by plane, it is possible to use public transportation, with a train connecting the airport to the center of Cagliari and from there, take the ARST bus. There are also private shuttle minibuses direct from the airport to Villasimius. It is also possible to reach the coastal town by renting a car directly at the airport or by cab.
By airplane
The nearest airport is Cagliari-Elmas, with numerous domestic and international connections provided by several airlines.
Further away but still convenient is the Olbia Costa Smeralda airport in northeastern Sardinia.
By ship
The nearest port is Cagliari. Ferries from Civitavecchia, Naples, Trapani, and Palermo disembark here.
For those arriving by sea from Genoa or Livorno, this is the right opportunity to discover the east coast of Sardinia as far as Villasimius.
In car
Villasimius is about 50 km from Cagliari but is easily reached from all over Sardinia. From Cagliari it can be reached by the old panoramic road that offers unique views. An alternative to the scenic road is the State Road 125 Var Orientale Sarda, which is smoother and can be driven to one of the exits for Muravera, Castiadas/Villasimius
For those arriving from Olbia, Sassari, Alghero or generally from northern Sardinia, it is always via the State Road 125Var Orientale Sarda, driving in a southerly direction.
Those arriving by plane or ship without a car can rent one directly at the airport and near the ports.

From the airport, it is possible to get to Cagliari by train, which arrives at Piazza Matteotti in the center of Cagliari, with frequency every 20 to 30 minutes from shortly after 5 a.m. to shortly after 9 p.m.
ARST Sardinia
From the ‘Elmas Aeroporto’ station, it is possible to reach the capital city station in about 6 minutes with a ticket costing 1.30 euros (one way) that can be purchased at Ferrovie dello Stato automatic ticket machines (in the Arrivals hall of the airport terminal and at the station), all ticket offices and authorized points of sale, as well as on the website of Trenitalia
